Why Pray The Rosary? |
Jesus Christ, from His birth, to His Ascension, through the view of His mother,
the Blessed Virgin Mary. James Allen wrote "As A Man Thinketh" which detailed that as a man thinks on a daily basis, so he becomes what he thinks. If you think daily on the life of Christ, His sacrifices, His Holy model of the right way to live, so you too will take on Christ-like characteristics, if you pray the Rosary devotedly. While the Rosary is a tool of meditation, it is also a prayer, and a means to pray for any cause that you need and want. For example, you may *need* healing from cancer, while you may *want* world peace. Prayer needs are direct needs you have that you must have in order for your normal state of life to continue. On the other hand, praying for something you desire or want is praying for something which may not affect your immediate well-being, but may be noble and ultimately good. Christ allows Himself to be touched through the special love He has for His mother, Mary. One of those ways is through placing prayer requests to Jesus through the recitation of a Rosary. The manner in which you place such prayer requests is to state your particular prayer request just before beginning recitation of the Rosary. Also, Church approved Marian apparitions, such as Fatima, have revealed to us that the Lord is very pleased by sacrifices, and His just wrath may also be appeased by such sacrifices. When you offer to the Lord the recitation of a Rosary for a specific prayer cause, you are not just directly asking Jesus to fulfill your prayer request, you are in effect, offering a sacrifice to the Lord in behalf of your prayer need or want. Biblically Jesus does not require you to do anything more than have faith and ask in His name, yet how much more pleasing is it when you make an immediate sacrifice for the particular cause you are praying for by dedicating and praying a rosary to that cause? Ultimately all prayers are answered according to your faith, and God's will, but wouldn't you want to be counted in those pleasing to the Lord who think upon His name, as detailed in the Bible passage: Malachi 3:16-17 - 16 Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. 17 And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. |
